1965 Luxus founded as a plastics trading company
1967 First production facility established in Louth, Lincolnshire to service export business to Scandinavia and the recycling requirements of a local film blowing company.
1968 Invested in its first plastics compounding line and went into production.
1976 The company bought its first green field site on the Fairfield Industrial Estate in Louth allowing the company to expand its plastic recycling and compounding operations.
1982 This year saw completion of a new purpose built factory on what is now known as the ‘Compounding’ site. The extra space which the new building offered enabled the company to establish its laboratory facilities which would become the centre for the company's quality assurance and product development needs (now known as the "Technical centre").
1988 Production capacity increased by 30% through investment in new plastic compounding technology.
1990 Building on polymer development knowledge and product quality provided by new extrusion plant and laboratory facilities the company invested more new equipment with the purchase of another Union extruder. Also in this year, Peter Atterby took the helm as Managing Director whilst Ron Tonn took less of an operational role as Chairman.
1992 Quality management system accredited to BS5750 (Now ISO 9000). Second production facility purchased to further pursue plastic recycling activities. This allowed the company to achieve its strategy of creating autonomous business units for its vertically integrated activities of recycling and compounding.
1996 Luxus purchase twin screw compounding equipment for colour and specialist engineering compounds and formally creates and invests in its Technical Centre.
1996/7 The recycling operation expanded its capabilities with the purchase of a Weima shredder and an Erema which converts film back to pellet without the need for granulation.
2001 To meet Automotive industry demands for a recycled talc filled PP compound, driven by environmental legislation, Luxus invested in more twin screw compounding lines with greater capacity of 2000 kgs per hour.
2002 The company continues to expand its productive capacity and the range of different services that can be offered.
2005 High volume shredder installed at Recycling for oil tank reclamation.
2006 Material identification system; integrated twin screw filling and micro pellet compounding line installed.
2007 New 160mm Erema installed and recycling building extended.
