PR 05 – Luxus focus on innovation and integrated polymer solutions at PDM 2008 – 15 February 2008
Innovative new materials, a recently launched website and corporate structure coupled with revitalized branding that combine to present integrated polymer solutions covering plastics compounding, recycling and technical support, will be the main focus on Luxus’ stand H22 at PDM 2008, 15-17 April, Telford.
“Nano composites, biodegradable compounds, flame retardant and micro pellet products capable of opening up new business opportunities for processors and end-users will demonstrate the capability of our technical centre to develop bespoke materials,” says Peter Atterby, managing director of Luxus.
A Nissan automotive dashboard manufactured from a compound that incorporates recycled polymers will illustrate how Luxus can create critical colour matched compounds to meet strict customer specifications. Other samples, including packaging products, flame retardant components, wheeled bins and automotive mouldings, will show how flexible and rigid plastics can be recycled and converted into reusable materials.
The development of sustainable solutions for realizing the full potential of plastics is a key area for Luxus that will be highlighted throughout its stand.
Luxus is one of the UK's largest independent specialists in the development and manufacture of thermoplastic compounds from prime and recycled polymers; recycling and plastics waste management services; technical support, testing and analysis. Its expertise in prime grade thermoplastics, compounding and converting end of first life plastic components - from automotive parts to exhibition carpets - into high quality polymer compounds is unmatched in Europe.
Last year Luxus processed over 28,000 tonnes of materials on its state-of-the-art technology plant. Equipment includes a custom-built Berstorff compounding extruder with underwater die face pelletizing system that allows soft or exotic materials such as TPEs, polycaprolactum and adhesive formulations, to be processed. Recycling facilities include the latest Erema plant that can handle a variety of feedstocks and introduce additives into materials being processed.
