PR 10 – ‘Life in Plastic is Fantastic’ T-shirt says it all…. – August 2008

Peter Laking, Recycling Factory Manager, at Luxus Limited and well known character of Louth, celebrated 40 years service with the business last month. 

To celebrate he entertained all of his work colleagues by wearing a t-shirt which stated ‘Life in Plastic is Fantastic’ for the day and reminisced about the good old days in 1968 when plastics were in their infancy. 

Peter started with Luxus as a machine operator and progressed through the business to become a key member of the senior management team with responsibility for engineering across the £17 million turnover company and management of its Recycling Division. Luxus is one of the UK's largest independent specialists in the development and manufacture of thermoplastic compounds from prime and recycled polymers. The company also offers recycling and plastics waste management, technical support, testing and plastics analysis services.

Peter said “Not only is plastic fantastic but it is fantastic to have spent my working life in the plastics industry with one fantastic company.  Everything is fantastic”.

The t-shirt was in fact purchased for him in Spain by friends who thought that having the words printed on his chest would mean he didn’t talk so much about plastic.  A friend who did not want to be named later admitted “we failed”.
