PR 15 – Luxus strengthens technical team – January 2009

Technical compounding and recycling specialist Luxus has strengthened its technical team with the appointment of Sarah Willis as laboratory manager. Willis has a degree in chemistry and was previously with titanium dioxide supplier Millennium Inorganic Chemicals.

Her extensive knowledge of pigments and polymers will be crucial to the development of new cost effective compounds for Luxus including micro pellet applications and polymer alloys. She will supervise the quality management of incoming materials – especially critical for recyclate - and ensure manufacturing output meets agreed specifications.

Additional key roles for Willis will be steering progression of the company’s quality culture and work on exciting pan European product development projects alongside technical manager Terry Burton who has 30 years production and technical experience with Luxus.

Her appointment is part of a major investment in services available through Luxus’ technical centre which include the addition of new moulding equipment, tooling and colour matching system. These extra resources will advance existing formulations and quality control standards as well as increase the speed of its response times to customers for new compounds and colour matched samples.
