Luxus have always recognized the need for in-house technical support. Back in 1982 we established a polymer development, testing and analysis laboratory to tightly monitor and control the quality of production, to allow us to assess incoming materials and create high quality bespoke plastic compounds with recycled plastic content.
We have continued to invest in our capabilities in this area and today our Technical Centre is central to our ongoing success and available to you. Internally it is the hub around which our recycling and compounding activities revolve and the driving force behind our recognition as an independent polymer solution provider.
A comprehensive range of services is offered:
Polymer testing
Melt Flow Index (MFI), Falling Dart (FDI) Izod Impact, Heat Distortion Temperature (HDT), Vicat Softening Temperature, Tensile tests, material identification.
Material selection
Drawing upon our in-depth knowledge of polymers and extensive resources we can work with you to identify and design the most suitable compound for your application.
Materials development
Formulation of bespoke compounds from selected prime and/or recycled plastic feedstocks with filler, additives, colour matched and compounded with a pellet geometry to your exact specifications.
Processing advisory service
We can help you resolve processing issues and identify problems whether these are material, processing, tooling or operator based. Our advice is expert and impartial. Use this service before you make costly changes.
Colour matching
We routinely analyse plastics materials to determine specific colour additive formulations and produce masterbatch to be compounded with your selected prime material.
Technical support
We also provide on-site assistance during initial processing trials to help you get the most out of your newly developed plastic compound.
