We’re delighted to announce improvements to its best-selling glass-filled hybrid compounds, which incorporate a carefully balanced blend of recycled and prime materials.

The development of increased impact resistance allows materials to be standardised materials across multiple applications, reducing stock grade requirements for manufacturers and enabling them to capitalise on economies of scale when it comes to purchasing.

Polypropylene 30% GF UV Black 16398/UV is already widely used in the automotive sector for engine splash shields, battery housings, clips and various assemblies, as well as underbody trays, and seat structures.

In other industries it offers a premium finish with a sustainable material for domestic appliances and furniture components without compromising on appearance or rigidity. It also supports lightweighting, offering a viable alternative to metal for structural supports.

This is an excellent advancement for manufacturers struggling for a sustainable product to withstand compressive load and/ or temperature. It will help achieve recycled content targets as a drop in solution.

Replacing metal components with recycled structural plastic reduces weight, saves cost and gains green credentials. Luxus can formulate GF PP to meet specific requirements for the perfect strength-to-weight ratio. along with a balance of economic and sustainable performance.

Reinforcing polypropylene with glass fibres or beads improves the mechanical properties of the material, enhancing its strength, rigidity, and thermal resistance. It is micro-equivalent to steel in concrete.

Our technical and processing experience and expertise allow us to process hollow glass bubbles to create a lightweight, strong, low-shrinkage compound,

Supported by our highly regarded in-house technical centre, we have a strong portfolio of additives optimised for specific applications using advanced laboratory-based processes.

Other examples of net generation standard stock grades are Polypropylene 30% GF Black Compound 16077, mainly used in automotive, domestic and construction applications. This versatile GF PP boasts impressive tensile properties while balancing a strong impact specification.

Current applications include car radiator supports, interior structural parts, instrument panels and door module carriers, as well as loft board support legs and foldable bed components.

We also offer Polypropylene 20% GF UV Black Compound 16503, a further versatile glass-filled polypropylene standard that is commonly used in thinner-walled applications. It’s higher melt flow makes it easier to mould, while the moderate UV package reduces polymer degradation in open sunlight and outdoor environments.

Applications include covers for small access chambers, safety product housing, vehicle seat components and folding garden furniture components.
