What Does the RecyClass Certification Allow You to Claim About Our Material?

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with EuCertPlast and RecyClass, streamlining the certification process for recycled materials. This partnership supports our mission to offer high-quality, certified recycled plastics, ensuring easy verification of recyclability and recycled content.

Understanding RecyClass Certification

RecyClass certification is essential for demonstrating the recyclability of plastic packaging and the recycled content in plastic products. Managed by RecyClass and issued by third-party certification bodies, this certification offers several key benefits:

  • Reassuring Consumers: Providing trust in the recyclability and recycled content of our products.

  • Ensuring Compliance: Verifies claims through independent assessments.

  • Showing Transparency: Provides clear information about recyclability and waste origin.

  • Supporting Sustainability Claims: Validates claims about recycled content and recyclability.

What You Can Claim About Our Materials

With RecyClass certification, Luxus can confidently categorises our materials as coming from:

  • Post-Consumer Material: Raw material processed from products used by consumers.

  • Pre-Consumer Material: Unused production raw material.

  • Certified Flake: Flakes from certified sources (RecyClass or EuCertPlast) classified as post-consumer or pre-consumer based on their certification.

Moving Towards a Circular Economy

The EU aims for all plastics to be recyclable and reusable by 2030, driven by legislation and consumer demand for sustainable products. Reliable certification is crucial for supporting genuine environmental claims and preventing greenwashing.

At Luxus, we support your sustainability goals with certified recycled materials. We see significant value in discarded plastic items and their potential to be transformed into new, enhanced products, challenging the negative connotations of the term “waste.”

Changing the Narrative: From Waste to Resource

We challenge the term “waste” and its negative implications. Discarded plastics hold significant value and potential for transformation:

"Luxus transforms discarded plastic items into valuable products, giving new enhanced life to plastics."

Although “waste” is commonly used in the industry, our perspective differs. Luxus customises grades using specific feedstocks, allowing our customers to confidently claim their products are made with post-consumer or pre-consumer recycled material. This approach offers flexibility and transparency in sustainability claims.
